We Belong in the Zoo! (Or Maybe we are the zoo!)

There are many days that I truly feel that I live in a zoo. Kids are running everywhere, screaming, toys are scattered all through the house and three dogs are barking like crazy. Most the time it just makes me smile, but sometimes it really does get the best of me. One of the things that we love to do with the kids to keep them occupied is to take them to the zoo. They absolutely love animals (so much so that the girls are having a petting zoo for their birthday) and love going to the zoo.

Watching the penguins. This may have been the highlight of the trip.

Isaiah driving the jeep in the new exhibit. He is really growing up!

Of course, we couldn't go to the zoo without at least one child throwing a fit. It was Addison who I caught on camera throwing a fit today.

They had to play on every statue they came to.

My mom decided she couldn't miss out on the fun, so she joined the kids!
The gorilla, if I remember correctly she is 47 years old!

The kids loved feeding the giraffes $5.00 (my mom won't let me forget the cost) lettuce!

We had such a great time at the zoo and can't wait to go again!

Until later,

Snow!

We had a cold front come through on Saturday night and it brought rain and snow all day Sunday. We were lucky that we live in the northern part of DFW because we got a lot wonderful, fluffy white snow.

The house covered in snow! It was beautiful!
Kate making a snow angel.

Addison making the perfect snowball.

Don't let the pink gloves fool you! Isaiah can make a pretty mean snowball!
Addison catching snowflakes!

This picture shows how deep the snow really was.

My handsome little boy! You can see that he lost another tooth on the bottom!

The girls with their "snowgirl" that daddy helped them build.

While we got a lot of snow, other parts of DFW did not, so no snow day for us, we are up and out of the house bright and early! I am secretly hoping this is the only snow day until next winter. As a teacher, I don't like to give up my bad weather days!
