Summer Days Drifting Away!

So much for blogging every week! I am so busy with our 4 sweet kids, that it's hard to find time to do a lot of things I meant to do (or would like to do).

I have truly enjoyed this summer with my kids. I cherish the time I spend with them and love watching them grow. What I haven't enjoyed is all the laundry and dishes! I'm washing more dishes than I've ever washed in my life. Soon after I've cooked breakfast, it's time for lunch, then they are hungry for snack and before I know it, it's time for dinner. Cooking all these meals, plus feeding an infant bottles, just means more dishes that I've ever seen! I think I run the dishwasher at least twice a day. Oh, and then there is the laundry! I think between the 6 of us we wear at least one load of clothes a day. If I don't stay on top of it, I end up with huge piles after just two days. I really think these kids must be wearing more than one outfit a day!

Now for some pictures. We had a great 4th of July at the Farmers Branch fireworks and I was able to get a few pictures of the fun.

5 Months

It's hard to believe our little guy is 5 months old already!

Some of the things you are doing at 5 months:

- sitting up with very little assistance
- rolling over
- eating baby food
- sleeping through the night :)

What you love to do:

- swim
- play on the floor with your brother and sisters
- jump in your jumperoo
- be held
- take baths

We love you sweet boy and couldn't imagine our family without you!

- Melissa

My new goal: To post at least twice a month! I think I can do it!

Our Little Fighter

Levi turned two months old on Saturday. It's hard to believe he is two months old and that he has spent half his little life sick, very sick.
We were at Children's hospital two weeks ago for six nights as Levi fought bronciolitis and pneumonia. We were released on February 13th and on February 29th we rushed Levi to the doctor as he struggled to breathe and started running fever. We were admitted to Children's and sent to the ICU that day for RSV. That night things went from bad to worse. He was put on a ventilator on Thursday and has remained on it since then. He also has a collapsed lung, is anemic and has had many other things just not go his way.
While things are tough, Levi has continued to fight. We are amazed that our sweet little boy is so strong.
To say that this his heartbreaking would be an understatement. We have shed many tears for many hours and just pray that our sweet boy continues to improve.
This picture was taken this morning. We were so excited to see his little eyes!
Tomorrow is a big day, they are going to try and take him off the ventilator. However, we have been warned that he may not respond well and may have to be put right back on. We will continue to take one small step forward as he fights to beat this virus. Please keep our sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers.
Until later,

1 Month

It's hard to believe our little man is one month old already. I was only going to take 6 weeks off of work, but am so thankful I am taking 8 weeks. I can't wait to spend more time with this sweet boy. A little about Levi at one month:

- You are a BIG boy! You weighed 12 lbs 2 1/2 oz. at your appointment on Monday (and that was 4 days before you turned a month old)
- You love to eat! You are eating 4 - 5 oz. every 3 hours. Mommy can't keep up with all your feeding demands!
- You do not like going in your car seat, but once the car starts moving you fall asleep!
- You only wore newborn clothes for 4 days and used newborn diapers for 6 days. Your 3 month clothes are now starting to get a little tight and we are almost in size 2 diapers.
- You only like sleeping if you are inclined so we bought you a Fisher Price Play and Sleep and you have done great in it!
- You do not like to swing!
- You hate to have your diaper changed (and your clothes changed)!
- You love bath time!
- You have blonde hair (but I think it may be getting darker like your dads) and pretty blue eyes!
- You got sick this last week and have had to be on breathing treatments. You do not like them and scream the whole time. It breaks your mommy's heart!
- You love when mommy sings to you. Your favorite song is "You are my Sunshine."
- You are loved by so many people! I can't imagine our family without our sweet Levi!

Sweet Levi

A new computer that actually works at home = time to get back to blogging! It's hard to believe it has been 4 months since I blogged last and our lives have changed so much since then. Last Tuesday, January 3rd we welcomed Levi Fuller Clark to our family.

We are completely in love with this sweet boy (as are his brother and sisters). He is such a laid back little man that loves to eat! At his doctor appointment yesterday (to check his jaundice) he already weighed more that his birth weight which the doctor said was "unprecedented." This little guy has a big future ahead of him and we are so excited to be a part of it!
